2024 Standards Implementation

Following the adoption of the 2024 RSPO Principles and Criteria and the 2024 RSPO Independent Smallholder Standard at the 21st RSPO General Assembly on 13 November 2024, the revised 2024 RSPO Standards shall take effect 12 months following their adoption on 13 November 2025.

To support the implementation of, and compliance with, the RSPO Standards, RSPO has developed a library of supplementary and derivatives documents that address general or specific aspects/criteria/indicators of the RSPO P&C and the RSPO ISH Standard. Some of these documents are currently undergoing revision or development to reflect the updates and streamline requirements based on the 2024 RSPO P&C and ISH Standard. The RSPO website will be regularly updated to reflect the latest information on the status and progress of these processes and activities related to the 2024 RSPO P&C and the 2024 RSPO ISH Standard. How to comment on the documents?

You will be asked to input your comments into the revised draft. To comment, you must be logged in (see guidelines on how to register above). Then only, you will be able to view the comments and provide feedback on the proposed/ revised drafts. Please go to the Supplementary/ Derivative Documents section below.

We are expected to get feedback from you and you will prompt to characterize your comment based on the type of comments..

PalmGHG V5 Manual

We’re pleased to announce that the PalmGHG V5 Manual is now open for online public consultation. This is your chance to share feedback and suggestions on the draft Manual.

Building on the PalmGHG V4 Manual (2021), the updated version provides enhanced technical guidance, aligning with the upcoming PalmGHG V5 Calculator and GHG Protocol requirements. Key updates include:

Detailed calculation methodology and system boundaries
Alignment with international standards
Overview of updated default values and emission factors
Expanded FAQs for all user levels

The V5 Manual also extends its relevance beyond upstream users, serving a broader audience interested in understanding palm oil GHG accounting. Together, the new Manual and Calculator aim to make PalmGHG V5 a transparent and reliable tool for GHG reporting.
